About

///Mission -
[seven].second.(spectrum) is a blog for artists by artists. We love art of any and all kinds - visual and aural. What we love most is stuff that makes you think and feel. Duh - that's art! Most importantly though it's about what's unexpected and we aim to offer content that is mostly non-conventional or just plain rad, and where appropriate, not just a blurb or a sound-byte. We believe that ultimately good blogs are going to be powered by people that are so passionate about what they are posting, they just can't help but talk about it. We'll try not to get too long-winded, but we hope you'll agree with us on this point. Though if you just want to see the awesome art itself, we understand, and we'll try to make that as easily available for you, too. Our hope is that you find some art that is completely new to you or maybe a fresh take on something you already love. With a strong community of readers who do their best to support the contributors and artists, plus contributors who do their best to support the readers and artists - the love can be as real as a mother's packed lunch. MMM lunch... Enjoy.

///Origin -
[seven].second.(spectrum) was a blog created out of boredom and a desire to express and share that love for art of all kinds. In October 2009, Kevin Davis (-7-2-S-) was laid in up bed with two broken feet from a bad accident. For months he had nothing to do, but watch movies, read books, and think long'n'hard. As fun as that no responsibility was, it was a dark and dreary time for the socially active, physically inclined young guy. He needed something to make the most of the situation, a new purpose. So as an avid internet surfer by nature, art enthusiast, amateur writer and tech savvy guy - the idea of a blog just sounded like a great pastime while he was out of commission for three months. Little did he know that it would lovingly consume him during that time. Although eventually, with the ability to walk again, his passion for other things in life resumed and the blog, a long with most things technological, took a back seat. Now a few months have gone by and he's decided to get back on the horse, with a renewed zealotry for interesting content and solid writing. Check it out and see what we mean.
